2019–20 South Australian bushfires

In 2019–20, the Black Summer Bushfires destroyed more than 254,600ha of land across the Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula and the state's South-East.

Green Industries SA led the disaster waste management and clean-up following the fires.

The clean-up by numbers

  • 541 properties cleaned up, ready for rebuild
  • Approximately 50,000 tonnes of bushfire waste managed
  • More than $15 million spent in partnership with the Australian Government to assist the statewide clean-up
