In 2019–20, the Black Summer Bushfires destroyed more than 254,600ha of land across the Adelaide Hills, Kangaroo Island, Yorke Peninsula and the state's South-East.

Green Industries SA led the disaster waste management and clean-up following the fires.

The clean-up by numbers

541 properties cleaned up, ready for rebuild
Approximately 50,000 tonnes of bushfire waste managed
More than $15 million spent in partnership with the Australian Government to assist the statewide clean-up
