South Australia’s Kerbside Waste Performance: State and Regional Report 2021–22 presents data on statewide kerbside waste and recycling collection services in SA.

  • 689,000 tonnes of municipal solid waste was collected from the kerbside, which equates to 416 kg per person, or 999 kg per household serviced.
  • Of the total waste collected South Australia recovered 205,600 tonnes of organics and 133,400 tonnes of recyclables, representing a total recovery rate of 49.2%.

Due to the time required to review data collected, this report is published one year in arrears. The current report is for the year 2021–22, and was published in September 2024.
