SA Water future procurement opportunities

SA Water, with support from GISA, reviewed its procurement product categories to identify opportunities for increased circular procurement in SA Water. These opportunities include, but are not limited to:

  • recycled glass in sand/as a sand alternative
  • recycled aggregate
  • recycled asphalt
  • recycled pipes (low pressure use)
  • recycled plastic in non-structural concrete to replace steel
  • recycled plastic in fixtures (e.g. furniture, barriers at treatment plants).

These opportunities are currently being considered by SA Water. Additionally, SA Water is open to discussions that would progress these (and other opportunities) for goods and services that contain recycled content.
